"Excellent Accommodation and Perfect Hosts"

Chose Catelli's as our Taupo stop-off and would completely concur with the other reviewers who guided me in this decision.

Upon arrival was greeted by Wendy and Denis with a spontaneous, very large glass of wine and the warmest of conviviality. The room (or apartment) was immaculate in every way and the spa (old style but no worse for that) was a lovely way to unwind at the end of a long day (would recommend paying the premium for this option).

Went for the'works' breakfast, again excellent and set us up for the day ahead.

"Excellent Accommodation with friendly service!”

Catelli's was clean, fresh and inviting. We stayed in one of the spacious family suits, which has a large private spa pool - perfect for relaxing after a hard day sightseeing / skiing. They even have the latest DVD's to borrow at reception at no charge! Very relaxing and comfortable - enjoyed the stay.

"Wow What Hospitality"

My partner and I stayed a Catelli's for a weekend last month. Wendy and Denis went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We are from Wellington and were considering Taupo as a wedding venue. Their local knowledge and helpfulness sold us on Taupo as a venue and their motel as a key part of looking after our guests! The rooms are extremely clean and tidy and the location close to town and other attractions. Wendy even popped in to our room to offer us a pre-dinner drink with her and Denis!
We would not hesitate to recommend Catelli's to anyone visiting Taupo on business or pleasure!

"Great Hotel - Super-friendly Owners"

We stayed at Catelli’s for 3 nights, the room was absolutely fine, had plenty of space and was very clean. It had two double beds with plenty of blankets (as was bit chilly in May), dinner table & chairs, tv, kitchen (had all we needed including dish washing liquid/tea towels and tea/coffee sachets), the bathroom was medium sized with a stand up shower and had complimentary soaps – pretty good considering they are classed as self catering. The room had air con and heating, we only used the heating though and it was perfect and very quiet.

The owners were super friendly and chatty and offered to help us out with anything.

"An Excellent Stay"

We stayed at Catelli's for 2 nights while in Taupo. We had a later than expected arrival but called to let Wendy know and she left the room/key ready for us and had the heater turned on when we arrived. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable, are full of helpful information/advice for your visit - they treat you like family! There were some groups staying there that return every year - I think that says alot about the quality of stay that you will have with Wendy and Dennis! If we are ever in Taupo again we would definately book our stay with them again!

"For me this was the best home away from home I wanted to stay in, in fact we extended our stay"

For me this was the perfect place to stay, I didn't hear alot of noise.
When we met Wendy and Denis,they picked up our bags and delivered us to our home for the next 12 days.  We where close to town and the lake, it was nice to take a short walk to go shopping or to catch a bite to eat. These two people will be missed.

"Not Just a Gem, its a Kohinoor"

We were getting married in Taupo when we arrived in Taupo to stay at Catelli's for 4 nights.  I agree with most of the comments here ... Wendy and Denis go out of their way to make their guests comfortable and thats why they are No.1 and certainly the Hidden Gems of New Zealand!  Denis showed us around the town! Wendy helped us a lot when we had some problems relating to our court marriage.  They were so friendly and such wonderful hosts that our stay at Catelli's was a perfect holiday.

"A Lovely Place to Stay!"

This was a great place to stay in Taupo - clean and has everything you need. Our children were well catered for and my son had a lovely conversation with Denis and they were pleased with the choices of DVDs (I know holidays aren't for watching TV but we wanted to stay in for a night or two whilst here!) And Catellis did the trick!
